Is access to virtual Primary Care available on holidays?
Primary Care is available thru OptimalMD 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. We do not restrict access on holidays or weekends if your chosen physician is available.
Do I need insurance to be seen?
No, insurance is not required. All patients have the ability to utilize the full benefits of OptimalMD's program. If you choose to become a member then additional options such as over 1100 free medications, free blood work, deeply discounted diagnostic labs and imaging. OptimalMD is the membership that pays for itself!
How do I know if I need urgent care or the emergency room?
If you feel your condition is life-threatening, you need to be seen in a hospital Emergency Room and you are advised to call 911. The ER treats life-threatening medical conditions, such as severe wounds, chest pains or amputations.
How long will I have to wait to be seen?
Our average wait time is same day or next day for primary care visits. In some cases, there are physicans available within the hour. The ability to choose your own physician also gives you control over your wait time, language preference, gender, ethnicity and other factors that might be important to you.
Who will be contacting me for my visit?
Our team includes Board-Certified Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Specialists, and more. These physicians are the same doctors available in United Healthcare, Blue Cross or other major networks. You can validate their credentials prior to your meeting with a simple Google search. Same doctors, just a much lower cost.
What types of services does OptimalMD provide?

Will you refill medications?
In most cases, the ansswer is yes. There are clinical criteria that each doctor considers, but our model is based on migrating your care and medications to our platform. Our pharmacy that does not charge copays, deductibles or other cost allows you to receive practically unlimited care and medications (available on our plan) at one low cost. Same physicians, same pharmacies.. lower cost. Routine medications can be refilled by scheduling an appointment with one of our primary care providers.
